Fire Department


Forrest City Fire Department is under the direction of Chief Johnny Ruffin. The department has three captain positions, thirteen paid firefighters and four volunteer firefighters.


Forrest City Fire Department responds to an estimated 500 or more emergencies each year. The Department is responsible for fire suppression, fire prevention and fire investigation. FCFD maintains five pieces of fire apparatus. They include: three class A pumpers, one arial truck, and one rescue truck.

The department has a Class 5 ISO rating. In addition to providing protection inside the city limits, the department has mutual aid agreements to assist with fires in surrounding cities.
